This is an antique recreation of a Navajo child's blanket from the Classic or Late Classic period (1850-1880). The rug features a rich red paired with undyed ivory wool. While this piece is room-sized, original child's blankets from the period were much smaller in scale. The historic design has been carefully preserved, with its bold diamonds and balanced horizontal stripes reflecting the aesthetic traditions of the Navajo (Diné). The flatweave is sturdy, which makes Santiago the perfect choice for high traffic areas such as living room or bedroom.
