Ivy

$750.00

Dimensions: 3'2" x 4'8"

A nice example of a Ganado rug circa 1940, presenting the quality work of Navajo weavers. Ganado is a small community located on the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona, in the southwestern United States. Ganado became famous in the early 20th century as a center for Navajo weaving, particularly the distinctive bold geometric patterns, strong reds and earthy tones, and a fine, tight weave. Ivy has a unique design with central medallions layered on top of each other. The handle is supple and the wool is soft. The condition is great except for a few subtle stains.
